Islandhill Midden

Pit fired for 2 days with seaweed and cow parsley collected from Islandhill, Comber. The small island can be reached by a narrow causeway when the tide is out. Many winter storms have revealed neolithic middens of oyster shells. Red ice age boulder clay makes the shoreline slippery.
